Kundasang Aquafarm is the only farm in Sabah that applies green aquaponics technology, integrating aquaculture and hydroponics techniques. This aquaponic farm can save up to 90% of water usage for irrigation, eliminates the need for fertilizers and the use of chemical pesticides, and optimizes the use of small spaces to achieve high productivity. Using this system, fish farming is managed to provide natural nutrients to the plants.

This project was successfully developed through funding from the High Impact Program 6 (HIP6). With this funding, several rain shelter houses were constructed to further enhance the productivity of this farm.
